Facility Hire

The Shire of Waroona provides and supports a number of facilities available to the community. Hirable facilities include a number of halls and meeting venues which can be used for a small fee. Hire fees can be found in our Fees and Charges

Halls

There are three halls available for hiring by the Shire of Waroona.

Memorial Hall

The Memorial Hall is located on South Western Highway, Waroona, near the Town Oval. The use of lighting, audio and crockery is hired through the Waroona Community Resource Centre.

Hamel Hall

The Hamel Hall is located on Cornucopia Street, Hamel. It was believed to have been built sometime prior to 1902. The Hamel Hall was restored by 1985.

Waroona Senior Citizens Centre

The Elderly Citizens centre is located on Millar Street near the South Western Highway, Waroona.

To book one of these halls simply complete the appropriate applications forms in the Application Forms section.

Parks And Gardens/ Public Open Space

There are several parks and gardens within the Shire of Waroona which have some great facilities available.

Some parks and gardens available are:

• Centennial Park (located South Western Highway)
• Kings Place Park (Kings Place)
• Pisconeri Park
• Waroona Recreation Centre Park
• Drakesbrook Weir
• Preston Beach Reserve

In accordance with the Shire of Waroona Property Local Laws you are required to apply to use one of the above facilities for the use of a party, wedding ect. To apply for use of one of the above facilities please complete the Public Open Space Application Form located at the bottom of this page.

Wedding Facilities

The Shire of Waroona has a variety of Council facilities, reserves, park and beaches that are popular venues to hold wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Beaches, Park and Gardens
Some popular locations for wedding ceremonies are:

• Preston Beach Reserve
• Drakesbrook Weir
• Centennial Park

These venues are classified as public open space, therefore, it is not possible to gain exclusive use of the area. However you are required by the Shire of Waroona Local Laws to apply for permit to use the said venue, also by booking the venue, this should avoid clashing with another wedding party.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited and the use of rice and confetti is not permitted and all rubbish and equipment is to be removed and the site left in a clean and tidy condition.

Memorial Hall

The Memorial Hall is located in the centre of the Shire of Waroona and would be an ideal location for a wedding reception or ceremony. The hall has toilets, stage, kitchen and an large open area. The glass doors on the side of the building can open up to create a relaxing open area.

Caravan / Camping Clubs

Enquiries from caravan and camping clubs are welcome. Applications are treated on their individual merits. For further information contact a customer service officer at the Shire on 9733 7800 or email cso@waroona.wa.gov.au

To Make A Booking

Firstly, call the Shire of Waroona Administration Office on 9733 7800 or email cso@waroona.wa.gov.au to ensure that your desired venue is available.

For use of the public open space areas no fee is applicable, any other council facility please refer to Council Fees and Charges.

Fees and Charges

Once a booking has been processed a confirmation letter will be sent to you. Please ensure this letter is on hand at the time of your booking.

Other Information

Consuming Liquor whilst using Council’s Facilities

If you wish to consume liquor whilst using any of Council’s facilities (Memorial Hall, Town Parks and Gardens etc.) then you must obtain permission from the Shire prior to the event taking place.

To gain permission an Application to Consume Liquor on Council Premises Form must be completed and return to the Shire of Waroona.
 
If you are using Councils Premises but are also wanting to Sell Liquor then you need to contact the Department of Racing, Gaming & Liquor to obtain a Liquor Permit.
