The CRC is the new home of the following recycling bins:
• Printer cartridge recycle bin (Cartridges 4 Planet Ark);
• Mobile phone recycle bin (Mobile Muster); and
• Battery recycle bin (Waste Authority).
These free recycling services provide the Waroona community with the opportunity to divert waste from landfill, recover materials for recycling, and subsequently become part of the solution to reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and conserving our planets natural resources.
Did you know?
• Over 99% of the materials in a mobile phone can be recovered;
• Rechargeable batteries can be used up to 1000 times more, making them a cost effective and long life alternative to single use batteries;
• Up to 95% of a battery can be recovered and recycled; and
• Over 30 million cartridges have been diverted from landfill through ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ recycling programme alone.
