Shire recognised as "Small Business Friendly"

The Shire of Waroona is pleased to announce it is looking to improve the way it interacts with small businesses operating in its community, to ensure that it is offering an attractive location in which to establish and grow a small business.

Having recently signed the Small Business Friendly Local Government Charter, the Shire of Waroona is showing its commitment to being small business friendly.

The Small Business Friendly Local Governments initiative was developed by the Small Business Development Corporation the only State Government agency focussed on supporting small business in Western Australia.

The Shire of Waroona is now proudly displaying the Small Business Friendly Local Governments logo and has committed to the Charter below.

The Shire of Waroona really values its local small businesses because they bring many benefits to the community including creating employment opportunities, providing goods and services and building a vibrant economy.

  • Small business employs almost half of the private sector workforce.
  • Small business is critical to WA; worth around $44 billion to the WA economy.
