The Shire has heard you, and together, we will ‘Find the new pulse for Waroona’s heart’

Waroona Town Centre Task Force

Through the workshops undertaken for the preparation of the Strategic Community Plan in 2019, the community provided clear direction to see the activation of the Waroona main street as part of the Waroona Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy.

In March this year the Shire established a Waroona Town Centre Task Force consisting of a diverse representation of the Waroona community, ranging from business owners, community groups and passionate individuals.

The Shire have engaged a consultant, element, to develop alongside the community a Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy and including implementation strategies to see the activation of the main street come to fruition.

What is a Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy?

A Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy (Strategy) guides the sustainable reinvigoration of a town centre by identifying ways in which to enhance the amenity, increase the economic viability of businesses in the town centre and develop enticing community places for you, the heart and soul of Waroona.

Why do we need a Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy?

The Strategy will ensure the town centre grows with a united vision that will see sustainable change with a clear focus on what you, the community, wants to see. The Strategy further enables the Shire to lobby State and Federal Government for funding to implement this shared vision.

Get involved and have your say!

This is your Strategy. Extensive community consultation will be undertaken during August 2020 through visioning workshops and online surveys developed to include the various demographics of the entire Shire.

Be a part of this exciting stage of the ‘reinvigoration’ of the Waroona town centre by completing one of the three online surveys between 17 and 31 August 2020.
