Drug Aware FUSION on the Green.

Waroona Leos, Zarli Butcher, Lily Della Franca and the Shire of Waroona are excited to announce the Drug Aware FUSION on the Green event, on this Friday April 9 2021 at the Waroona Town Oval & Memorial Hall from 1pm–4pm.

Help us celebrate Youth Week WA 2021 with an afternoon of fun, art, music and culture.  Learn some new break dancing skills with Breakin Traditions, or be a part of a community art project facilitated by our very own talented artist Raquisha from the Bindjareb Middars.  The interactive art project will allow community to contribute to a textured Indigenous map of the region from Sea to Scarp while learning Aboriginal art techniques.

The Bindjareb Middars are excited to have the opportunity to teach Noongar dance through the afternoon, and the amazing Jess from Steetnet will get the vibes buzzing as she teaches drumming skills in a group setting.

Madcow entertainment will help keep everyone active with the whakamole, boxing ring and the gladiator. Food & drinks will be available to purchase from the Lions kitchen and various Youth Support Services will also be there to provide information on a range of health and wellbeing subjects.

It’s easy to get involved, register to attend the event at the Shire of Waroona or Sea to Scarp: Your Community Facebook pages to find all the details, save the date in your calendars then get amongst it!

This will be a great event to get to know new people and to experience many new opportunities that you wouldn’t get to normally.

I’m excited for this event and for the connections that will be made between young people in Waroona because of it. It’s going to be a great time so get involved and enjoy the event.

Zarli Butcher – Waroona Leos Club

This is a smoke, alcohol and drug free event.

This project has been proudly sponsored by Regional Arts WA and by Healthway to promote the Drug Aware message.
