The Shire has been notified that Rio Tinto Exploration Pty Ltd has lodged applications with the State Government to undertake mining activities in the Darling Scarp. The application areas cover approximately 92,000 hectares and includes the local government areas of Murray, Boddington, Waroona, Harvey, Williams, Collie and Donnybrook-Balingup.
