We are looking for a motivated person to join our team as a Local Government Administration Trainee. The role will commence following recruitment (around November 2025), with the official 12-month traineeship program beginning in February 2026. As part of the traineeship, you will complete either a Certificate III or Diploma in Local Government (LGA30120/LGA40120), with all enrolment costs paid for by the Shire.
As a trainee, you will mainly work at the Shire’s Administration Office, but you may also spend time at the Works Administration office and other facilities. You will help with customer service, administration, records, and provide support across multiple departments including community services, development services, the library, and at Shire events. This is a varied role that will give you a wide understanding of local government.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, keen to learn, and has good literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills. Completion of Year 10 is essential (Year 12 desirable). You will need to show commitment to finishing your qualification and being part of a supportive, team-focused workplace.
