Water Corporation will soon begin works to replace Somers Road Bridge (MRWA Ref: 5188). As such, they will be closing the road while they do this work at the southern end of Somers Rd for approximately 4 weeks.
Construction is scheduled to commence from 18 May 2026 and expected to be completed by mid-June 2026. Traffic management will be in place during the works.
The current bridge has a 20-tonne load limit. The new bridge will have full load-carrying capacity, restoring heavy vehicle access.
The Water Corporations understands the work will impact road users and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
