We’re excited to share that the Shire of Waroona has officially completed its Urban Canopy Grant Project, made possible through funding support from WALGA (Western Australian Local Government Association).
As part of the project, 363 native trees were planted across areas of our community helping to create greener, cooler, and more vibrant streets and public places for everyone to enjoy.
These trees will bring long-term benefits including:
Improved air quality and local biodiversity 🍃
Cooler temperatures and shaded walkways 🌡️
Better water management and reduced runoff 💧
More inviting streetscapes and public places 🌿
A big thank you to WALGA for their support, and to everyone involved in delivering this important urban greening project. 🌱
