ALCOA WAROONA SUSTAINABILITY FUND ADVISORY COMMITTEE

VACANCY – COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE

Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and dedicated person from the community to fill one (1) position as community representative on the Alcoa Waroona Sustainability Fund Advisory Committee for a two (2) year term.

The Advisory Committee will be responsible for administering the Alcoa Waroona Sustainability Fund (AWSF). The Committee will have the responsibility of developing guidelines for grants and making recommendations for successful grants to the Shire of Waroona for final approval.

A guiding principle of the fund is that the fund is to be used for one-off, innovative, larger community development type projects that make a net position contribution to the sustainability of the region surrounding the Wagerup refinery, with a focus on the areas of Waroona, Lake Clifton, Preston Beach, Nanga Brook, Wagerup and Hamel.

Prospective applicants need to be aware that they may be called upon from time to time to make difficult decisions when it comes to analysing large-scale projects and making recommendations for funding.  The committee currently meets approx 2 to 3 times per year.

Application forms and further details are available from the Shire Office or here.

Completed applications are to be received by no later than 4pm on Tuesday 23rd November 2021.  Applications can be submitted by post, email or hand delivered to –
