TOWARDS WAROONA 2030 – CORPORATE BUSINESS PLAN 2021-2025

At its September Ordinary Meeting, Council adopted a reviewed Corporate Business Plan for the period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2025. This four year plan titled ‘Towards Waroona 2030' will activate the objectives of the Strategic Community Plan, and informs the annual budget process to ensure the priorities of the community are strategically aligned and affordable.

Towards Waroona 2030 provides an overview of the Shire district, Council and staff, and highlights the services provided to the community. These, combined with the Shire’s vision, mission, values, focus areas and aspirations to the year 2030, provide a context to the objectives, strategies, projects and actions listed in the plan. Major projects identified for the next four years include:

  • Waroona Revitalisation Strategy and Masterplan
  • Waroona Community Precinct
  • Environmental Hub
  • Drakesbrook Weir Masterplan and Upgrade
  • Preston Beach Foreshore Management Plan
  • Preston Beach Accessible Boardwalk
  • Lake Clifton Community Reserve Upgrade
  • Waste Transfer Station
  • Tourism Strategy
  • Alcoa Waroona Micro Grants Program
  • Local Planning Strategy and Town Planning Scheme Review

Shire President Cr Mike Walmsley hopes the plan will provide the community with a better insight into the functions and demands placed on council.

“I encourage all our residents to read through this document to better understand all the areas that your council has connection and management to our lives, and the responsibilities to deliver this service that our residents expect”.
